The Affordable Care Act is slated to provide an additional 32 million Americans with health insurance coverage by 2019, according to the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL). The newly insured will seek medical care in a primary care setting, placing an even greater strain on the primary care workforce. What does that mean to growing Healthcare Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) in the U.S.?
